Hi, I'm Kat! Welcome to my little corner of the internet where I share my baking recipes with you. Like many people, I was inspired by The Great British Bake Off to get into baking. I started this blog as a way to record my progress and show my friends and family what I'd made, but it's grown into so much more! As well as running my business, I'm a mum of a chocolate obsessed little boy. I live in Manchester, and my hobbies include crafting, film & TV, cooking, travelling and spending time with friends.
All the recipes on this blog are home made in my kitchen. I aim to bring you achievable bakes that you can see yourself producing in your kitchen too. I like things to look good, but also look fun and home made. I'm learning every step of the way and want you to join in! In 2015 I started learning a lot about the meat and dairy industry so I don't eat meat anymore. My blog is 100% vegetarian. You'll also find lots of vegan friendly recipes from me too. If you like vegetarian and vegan cooking, then please check out my other blog Kat's Veg Kitchen!
Bakes That Break The Internet was published in August 2023 by Ebury Books. It includes 40 recipes such as Bronuts, Nutella Freakshake, Cookie Dippers and School Cake. You can purchase it now via Amazon.
This blog is written entirely by Kat Buckley (aka The Baking Explorer) and was started in August 2012. I recommend products on this blog because in my own opinion I am satisfied with the product and want to tell people about it. Even if I've been sent the product for free, it is always my honest opinion and I am not obliged to write a positive review. Everything I write is my own opinion and experience. I am happy to do sponsored posts. Get in touch using the contact form below if you would like to discuss a collaboration, or check out my Work With Me page.
In order to earn a fair wage from my blog and to buy ingredients, and pay for things like my domain name and photography equipment, you will see Amazon links on my blog. I earn a small amount of money if you buy the products after clicking on the links. You will not be charged anything extra for this! I will keep the products relevant to my posts and only link to products that I use and have bought myself, or are very similar to products I use and have bought. You are supporting my blog with any purchase that you make, so thank you! Whilst I make every effort to ensure my recipes are clear and accurate, I cannot be held responsible for what happens in your kitchen and home environment, including and not limited to accidents requiring medical attention and allergic reactions. So please ensure that if you have any allergies you take the necessary precautions, and that you operate kitchen equipment, appliances and tools in a safe manner.
All of the content on my blog is copyrighted. If you wish to use any of my content elsewhere you must obtain permission from me first, then you must credit me, and link back to my blog directly. You also must not remove my watermark from my photos without permission. Do not copy and paste my recipes elsewhere, instead provide a link back to the recipe post on my website. I put a lot of time, money, hard work and creative energy into the recipes and photos I create, so having them reproduced or copied without my permission is very hurtful. It's also illegal under copyright law and is intellectual property theft.
I'd love to hear from you! You can contact me using the form below, by commenting on one of my recipes, or through my Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. If you would like to work with me, please head over to my Work With Me page.
